Sokcho City Launches Child Abuse Prevention Campaign at Local Schools
Promoting Awareness of Child Abuse
Continuing the Visiting Campaign Until November
Sokcho City in Gangwon Province conducted a child abuse prevention campaign at local schools from September 15 to 17 to foster a social atmosphere where children can grow up safely.
This campaign was organized for students at schools that expressed interest in participating through a preliminary survey for the second semester. The Child Protection Team and school staff participated together, focusing on helping students recognize the seriousness of child abuse and learn appropriate ways to respond.
The campaign was held at Seoron Middle School, Youngrang Elementary School, and Cheongho Elementary School, where practical ways to prevent child abuse in daily life were shared through promotional activities with students.
Lee Byungseon, Mayor of Sokcho, stated, "I hope this campaign will help students recognize child abuse not just as a social issue, but as something that can be prevented in our everyday surroundings," adding, "We will continue to work with schools and the local community to create an environment where children can grow up safely and healthily."
