They focused on a variety of topics, including organizational culture innovation, improvements in work practices, responses to local depopulation, and strategies for county administration development.
During the performance report meeting, a total of 10 teams presented projects linked to key county issues, such as sustainable energy solutions, AI-based administrative work innovation, housing support through vacant house remodeling, welfare platform development, and the creation of a youth-led policy ecosystem.
The results of the presentations will be evaluated equally by the Senior Board (composed of the county governor, deputy governor, and directors) and the Junior Board, each accounting for 50% of the total score. The final winning teams will receive certificates, prize money of up to 1 million won, an overseas advanced culture tour, and special leave as incentives. The awards ceremony is scheduled to be held during the staff monthly meeting in October.
One Millennial & Gen Z public official who participated in the report meeting commented, "I feel a sense of responsibility knowing that my ideas can go beyond just suggestions and actually become real policies," adding, "It is rewarding to see young public officials take ownership and drive change in county administration."
County Governor Kim Myunggi stated, "I see the future of Hoengseong in the way young public officials are proactively considering the development of county administration and directly proposing solutions. We will actively review the proposed ideas to ensure they are reflected in actual policies."
The activities of the Hoengseong County Innovation Junior Board are regarded as an experimental initiative by the county, aiming not only to generate suggestions but also to achieve tangible results through policy implementation and organizational culture innovation.
