Previously, in August, the city completed traffic system improvements at three locations: Kyunghee University Samgeori Intersection, Musugyo Samgeori Intersection, and the entrance Samgeori Intersection to the Gorim District.
A left-turn lane was added at Kyunghee University Samgeori Intersection, and a right-turn lane was added at Musugyo Samgeori Intersection. At the entrance Samgeori Intersection to the Gorim District, a new intersection was constructed to disperse traffic volume between National Route 45 and the Gorim District.
As a result, the number of locations where traffic system improvements have been implemented this year has increased to six, including the Baekam Administrative Welfare Center (April) and the Buk-ri Samgeori Intersection in Namsa-eup (July).
To maximize the effectiveness of improvements within a short period and with a limited budget, the city is making the most of existing roads and reorganizing available surrounding spaces to advance traffic system enhancements. By the end of the year, the city plans to complete additional works at three more locations: Myeongji Intersection, Hagal Intersection, and the Saam Roundabout in Wonsam-myeon.
