Genesis is participating in this competition as a preliminary step toward entering the WEC Hypercar class in 2026, in partnership with its racing operations partner, IDEC Sport.
In April, Genesis claimed victory in the LMP2 class and finished second overall at the opening round held at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Spain. At the second round, which took place at Circuit Paul Ricard in Le Castellet, southeastern France, the team secured its second LMP2 class win and finished first overall.
The LMP2 class uses a standardized chassis (Oreca 07) and engine (Gibson V8) to minimize mechanical performance differences, allowing for practical training in long-distance driving and traffic management, which are essential for endurance racing and preparation for the WEC.
Genesis Magma Racing drivers Jamie Chadwick, Mathis Beche, and Dani Juncadella participated in the fifth round of the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) on September 14 (local time). In the latter stages of the race, they maintained their lead with bold strategy in wet conditions, securing both the LMP2 class victory and first place overall.

Cyril Abiteboul, Head of Hyundai Motorsport and General Director of Genesis Magma Racing, stated, "Our goal at the beginning of the season was not to compete for the championship, but now we are in a position to aim for the title. We will strive to finish the season perfectly at the final race in Portimao and prepare for our entry into the WEC next year."
