Yeongyang County Successfully Holds '2025 Gender Equality Week Commemorative Event'

Yeongyang County (Governor Oh Dochang) successfully held the '2025 Gender Equality Week Commemorative Event' at 2 p.m. on September 16 at the Yeongyang County Culture and Sports Center.
This commemorative event, organized by the Yeongyang County Women's Association Council (President Lee Okhwa), was held under the slogan "A Gender-Equal Society Where Everyone Is Respected, A Happy Yeongyang County for All." Over 300 people attended, including members from 11 local women's organizations, heads of institutions and organizations, and local residents, making the event a great success.
The first part of the ceremony featured a pre-event performance, an opening address, a commemorative speech, an award ceremony for contributors to gender equality, a screening of a video showcasing women's organization activities, and a gender equality-themed performance.
The second part, titled "Harmony for an Equal World," consisted of talent shows by women's organization members, fostering unity and friendship among members and receiving enthusiastic responses from attendees.
Lee Okhwa, President of the Yeongyang County Women's Association Council, stated, "I hope today's event becomes a powerful catalyst for gender equality to take root in our daily lives," adding, "We will actively work to improve awareness so that gender differences do not lead to discrimination and everyone can be respected in our society."
