The team takes the lead in fostering a culture of integrity among public officials by building consensus within the organization and preparing effective initiatives.
The second briefing session was attended by Mayor Joo Kwangdeok and ten young local officials. While the first session, held on July 25, focused on proposals and discussions led by working-level staff, this session provided an opportunity for the mayor and young officials to jointly review the roles of senior officials and explore ways to improve them.
During the meeting, after sharing the results of the 2025 integrity assessment for senior officials, the young local officials presented their opinions on issues found in corruption-prone areas, such as organizational culture and proactive administration. Mayor Joo listened to their perspectives based on their professional experience and engaged in discussions to ensure that these opinions could be translated into actionable measures.
In particular, this briefing session addressed concrete action plans to connect the proposals of young local officials to actual policy and organizational culture improvements. They suggested ways to reflect the voices from the field, such as strengthening communication and improving work procedures, and also shared their views on the direction for future initiatives.
One staff member who attended the session said, "It was a very meaningful occasion where I could directly convey the voices from the field and have an honest discussion with the mayor."
Mayor Joo Kwangdeok stated, "The spirit of integrity emphasized by Dasan Jeong Yak-yong is not just a grand slogan, but something that lives in our actions-treating citizens with fairness and integrity, respecting colleagues and juniors, and fulfilling our responsibilities in our respective roles. The active participation and creative ideas of young local officials will serve as the foundation for enhancing the effectiveness of our city's integrity policies."
