Ministry of Food and Drug Safety Announces Seoul as Host City for WC14 in 2027
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety announced on September 15 that the 2027 World Congress on Animal Experimentation and Alternatives in Life Sciences (WC) will be held in Korea.
The 14th WC, scheduled for 2027, will take place at COEX in Seoul under the theme "Opening New Paths." Key topics will include the future direction of research and policy in the field of alternative methods to animal testing, strategies to enhance the competitiveness of Korea's advanced alternative testing sector, and ways to promote the development of humane and scientifically valid testing methods.
This event, held every two years, serves as a platform for communication and cooperation among international organizations such as the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), regulatory authorities from various countries, and industry stakeholders, all working to reduce, refine, and replace animal use. The congress sets the direction for research and policy in the field of alternative testing methods and promotes the development of humane and scientifically sound testing methods for the advancement of life sciences. This year's meeting was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
