Gangjin County Launches Citizen Jury Meetings to Monitor 8th Administration Pledge Implementation
Gangjin County in South Jeolla Province has launched a citizen jury meeting, allowing residents to directly monitor the progress of the 8th popularly elected administration’s pledges.
On September 15, Gangjin County announced that it recently held the first session of the “Citizen Jury Meeting” in the main conference room of the county office. With support from the Korea Manifesto Center, about 30 citizen jurors were selected to review the status of pledge implementation and discuss the future direction of county administration. The meetings will be held a total of three times: the second session is scheduled for the 26th, and the final session will take place on the 17th of next month.
The first session included an appointment ceremony for the citizen jurors, followed by lectures on the manifesto movement and the citizen jury system. The jurors were divided into five groups, where they introduced themselves, shared their motivations for participating, discussed their roles and future schedules, and then presented their group resolutions.
