Medications Now Available After 10 p.m.: Gongju Opens Its First Public Late-Night Pharmacy
Chungnam Province Expects Enhanced Medication Safety and Improved Access to Pharmaceuticals for Residents
Chungnam Province announced on September 15 that it has newly designated one "Public Late-Night Pharmacy" in Gongju, where residents can purchase pharmaceuticals even late at night.
With this addition, the total number of late-night pharmacies in the province has increased to nine, further improving residents' access to medications and enhancing medication safety.
The Public Late-Night Pharmacy operates from 10:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. the following day and remains open on public holidays. In addition to simple purchases, pharmacists provide medication guidance and consultations, which helps reduce unnecessary emergency room visits and prevents the misuse or abuse of pharmaceuticals.
Currently, there are nine late-night pharmacies operating in Chungnam: one newly designated in Gongju, two in Cheonan, two in Asan, one in Seosan, two in Nonsan, and one in Dangjin.
Detailed information, including pharmacy locations and operating hours, can be found at the public health centers of each city and county.
