From September 12 to 14, for three days, the area around Chuncheon City Hall Square and Myeongdong was transformed into a festival venue, invigorating the entire original downtown and revitalizing local businesses.
This year’s event was especially meaningful as it was a festival created by both citizens and merchants to revitalize eight commercial districts in Chuncheon’s original downtown area.
In addition, the Gangwon Music Creation Center, Chuncheon Youth Culture Center, local singers, and arts organizations came together to present a variety of performances with citizens. The venue also featured experience zones such as a mini escape room, photo booth, and fan and LED light-making activities, attracting families visiting the festival.
Food zones and flea markets, operated directly by local merchants, added to the lively atmosphere of the downtown. Furthermore, visitors who presented receipts from purchases made in the downtown area received gifts and could participate in prize drawings, further boosting consumption.

One citizen who attended the festival said, "I visited the festival for two consecutive days. It was great to have so many things to enjoy with my family without having to travel far. I hope such festivals will be held frequently in the downtown area in the future."
Merchants also expressed high satisfaction. A merchant who operated a booth at the festival said, "Beyond a simple increase in sales, I could really feel that the original downtown business district is coming back to life. I hope this continues next year as well."
