46.9% of Gyeongnam Residents Say "Governor Park Wansu Is Doing Well"... Positive Evaluation Rises Again
It was found that 46.9% of Gyeongnam Province residents have a positive view of Governor Park Wansu's job performance.
On September 12, polling agency Realmeter released the results of its August job performance evaluation survey for the heads of 17 metropolitan governments nationwide.
According to the announcement, the positive evaluation of Governor Park rose by 2.9 percentage points from July to 46.9%, while the negative evaluation fell by 3.3 percentage points to 33.8%.
Governor Park ranked sixth nationwide in positive evaluation among metropolitan government heads, following Governor Kim Yungrok of Jeonnam Province, Governor Lee Cheolwoo of Gyeongbuk Province, Governor Kim Dongyeon of Gyeonggi Province, and Mayor Kim Dugyeom of Ulsan.
Resident satisfaction with daily life also rose by 1.3 percentage points to 60.4%, up from 59.1% in July.
Since the launch of the 8th popularly elected local government in July 2022, Realmeter has consistently conducted job performance evaluation surveys for metropolitan government heads.
Governor Park began with a positive evaluation of 50.7% and a negative evaluation of 32.9% in July 2023, the year after taking office, and reached as high as 53.3% in February 2024. His ratings have fluctuated between a high of 53.3% and a low in the 44% range, generally remaining around the 50% level.
This survey was conducted using random digit dialing (RDD) and automated response methods, targeting 13,600 people aged 18 and older nationwide (800 people per city and province for both July and August) from July 28 to 31 and from August 29 to September 1.

The sampling error for each metropolitan government was ±3.5 percentage points at a 95% confidence level, and the response rate was 3.1%.
