Hanssem Signs MOU with Peace Forest to Create "Hanssem Forest No. 2"
A 0.5-Hectare Urban Forest Buffer Zone Near Sihwa Industrial Complex
On September 12, Hanssem announced that it had signed a business agreement (MOU) with Peace Forest to create "Hanssem Forest No. 2" near the Sihwa Industrial Complex in Siheung, Gyeonggi Province.
To protect the domestic forest ecosystem, Hanssem began with Hanssem Forest No. 1 in Samcheok, Gangwon Province in April last year. With the creation of the second forest in Siheung, the company aims to improve the urban environment and enhance biodiversity at the same time.

View original imageUnder this agreement, Hanssem and Peace Forest plan to jointly operate regular ecological management programs over the next three years, including expert monitoring, weeding, fertilizing, and pruning.
For the creation of Hanssem Forest No. 2, they plan to plant approximately 1,050 native trees, including 500 Korean red pines, 50 goldenrain trees, and 500 Rosa rugosa, to promote both biodiversity restoration and urban environmental improvement.
Jaehyun Kim, CEO of Peace Forest, said, "I hope Hanssem Forest will become a model case of an urban forest jointly cultivated by local residents and businesses."
