A Variety of Autumn Festivals and Performances Also Planned
LetsRun Park Busan-Gyeongnam, operated by Korea Racing Authority (headed by Eom Youngseok), will host the 'Gangseo District Mayor's Cup' on September 14.
The Gangseo District Mayor's Cup is a prestigious race held under the name of the head of the local government where LetsRun Park is located, and is sponsored by the Gangseo District Office to promote the horse industry as well as cultural, sports, and tourism activities.
Now in its second year, this race will serve as the first gateway of the Juvenile Series, featuring rookie racehorses that debuted between June and August this year.
Among the contenders are 'Wild Park,' the winner of last month's Rookie Stakes Special Race; 'Runners High,' offspring of Musket Man; and 'Boryeong One Road.' Also confirmed to compete are 'Doctor Centum,' who demonstrated impressive skills with an eight-length victory in a regular race, and 'Kings King,' known for a powerful late charge. A fierce competition is anticipated.
A variety of side events are also planned for racing fans. On the day of the event, there will be an exhibition on the Eight Scenic Views of Gangseo, a photo booth, interactive programs, and a food zone. Children's puppet shows will be held at 11:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., and a cheerleading performance will take place at 1:00 p.m.
In addition, at 2:30 p.m., a joint cheering event by professional sports cheering squads and cheerleader teams will be held, followed by a special performance by trot singer Soyoumi at 3:30 p.m. There will also be prize draws and a 'Malmama' photo event, offering a wide range of entertainment for families visiting the park.
