Jindo County in South Jeolla Province and Jeonnam Technopark held an export consultation meeting with Russian distribution buyers at Sol Beach Jindo on September 2.

According to the county on September 11, this consultation was part of the "Support Project for Activating Upstream and Downstream Industries Utilizing Jindo Turmeric and Other Specialty Resources."

This project is being promoted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and Jindo County to respond to the risk of regional extinction. In cooperation with the Jeonnam Bioindustry Foundation, a total of 1.7 billion won has been invested over two years since 2023 to provide customized support for companies.

During the event, Russian buyers visited Jindo in person, toured product manufacturing sites, and explored possibilities for cooperation through one-on-one consultations and demonstrations. As a result, six companies based in the county entered into negotiations to supply products to Russian distribution networks and signed purchase intention agreements worth a total of 1 million dollars.

The county plans to support local companies in visiting Russia in October to pursue actual export contracts and further negotiations for entering distribution networks.

Kim Heesu, Governor of Jindo County, stated, "This consultation served as an opportunity to showcase the excellence of Jindo's agricultural and marine products in the Russian market," adding, "We will continue to strengthen support for companies so that Jindo's agricultural and marine products can be recognized as a leading brand in overseas markets."
