Suncheon National University Advanced Cultural Contents Exploration Team Strengthens Exchange and Cooperation in Japan
Enhancing the Competitiveness of Regional Cultural Contents
Through Analysis of International Best Practices
Suncheon National University (President Lee Byungwoon) announced on September 11 that its "Advanced Cultural Contents Exploration Team," consisting of 8 freshmen and 26 current students, visited Osaka and neighboring areas in Japan for five days until September 4. The team investigated outstanding examples of regional cultural contents and held in-depth discussions on cooperation measures through exchanges with relevant institutions.
The Suncheon National University exploration focused on several key areas: academic exchanges with overseas universities and research institutes related to regional culture and cultural contents; site visits to cultural facilities and content production sites; exchange activities with international university students; and exploring possibilities for industrial cooperation and promoting the signing of memorandums of understanding (MOUs).

View original imageThe exploration team visited the Osaka-Kansai Expo, the Disaster Recovery System Research Institute at Kwansei Gakuin University, the Human and Disaster Prevention Future Center, the Osaka Museum of History, and Osaka Castle in succession. Through these visits, they engaged in in-depth discussions about the planning, production, and preservation of regional cultural contents, and shared on-site experiences and policy insights.
Major achievements and policy proposals include: seeking ways to strengthen the competitiveness of cultural contents based on regional characteristics through analysis of advanced overseas cases; recognizing the need for convergence-type contents that combine environment, history, and education; presenting a sustainable regional cooperation model through sister city cultural exchanges between Suncheon and Osaka; and establishing a practical foundation for exchanges with Kwansei Gakuin University.
Most of the students who participated in this exploration expressed high satisfaction, and the team plans to compile and share reports and policy proposals reflecting the outcomes of the visit.

A representative of the exploration team stated, "Accumulating experience by directly observing and exchanging with advanced overseas cases provided new policy insights for the regional cultural contents industry," adding, "We will continue to prepare measures to strengthen the competitiveness of the Suncheon region through ongoing international exchange and cooperation."
