320 Korean Companies to Participate, Covering Beauty, Living, and Food Sectors
The Korea International Trade Association announced on the 12th that, together with COEX, it will host the "2025 Jakarta International Premium Consumer Goods Exhibition" at the JICC Exhibition Center in Jakarta, Indonesia, from the 11th to the 14th.
Since 2018, the association has organized this exhibition to promote outstanding products from Korean small and medium-sized enterprises and to support the development of new export channels in the Indonesian consumer market, which has a population of 280 million and an average annual economic growth rate of 5%. This year, a total of 320 domestic companies will participate, in collaboration with major export-related organizations such as the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency, the Korea Foundation for Cooperation between Large & Small Business, Rural Affairs, the Small Enterprise and Market Service, as well as 10 local governments including Seoul, Gyeonggi, Incheon, Daejeon, Daegu, Sejong, North Gyeongsang, South Gyeongsang, North Jeolla, and Jeju.
Approximately 1,000 local buyers are expected to visit the exhibition site to hold business meetings with Korean companies. In addition, a variety of side events will be organized, including expert seminars on entering the Indonesian market and influencer live studios.
COEX, as a co-host, will operate a separate "Big Buyer Lounge," inviting more than 10 major local beauty and food distributors such as Boots Indonesia and The Food Hall, as well as buyers from six countries including Singapore, Thailand, and Taiwan. The event will also feature a buyer-matching consultation program as part of its initiative to support joint overseas expansion by large and small businesses.
Meanwhile, Lee Inho, Vice Chairman of the Korea International Trade Association, met with Sanjoyo Antarikso, President of the Indonesian Cosmetics Association (PERKOSMI), before the opening ceremony to discuss ways to enhance economic cooperation between the two countries. In particular, he requested the simplification of certification procedures, as Korean companies are expected to face difficulties due to the mandatory halal certification for cosmetics scheduled to take effect in October next year. Indonesia made halal certification mandatory for food products in October 2023 and plans to expand this requirement to cosmetics and pharmaceuticals in October next year.

Vice Chairman Lee stated, "Indonesia is emerging as a key country in the Global South, thanks to its young population with an average age of 29, the world's fourth-largest domestic market, and strong preference for Korean products driven by the Korean Wave. The Korea International Trade Association will actively pursue initiatives such as market development, certification support, and strengthening local networks to help Korean companies use Indonesia as a bridgehead for stable entry into the ASEAN market, thereby achieving tangible results."
