Dongducheon City Sets 2026 Living Wage at 11,100 Won per Hour, Up 2.9%
Dongducheon City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Park Hyungdeok) announced on the 11th that it held a Living Wage Committee meeting on the 8th and decided to set the living wage for 2026 at 11,100 won, a 2.9% increase from this year.
The living wage system is designed to supplement the minimum wage by setting an appropriate wage level so that workers can enjoy a decent standard of living and to promote the practical improvement of welfare for ordinary citizens.
This year's living wage was determined by comprehensively considering the minimum wage increase rate for 2026 and the city's financial conditions. When converted to a monthly salary for one worker (based on 209 hours), it amounts to 2,319,900 won, which is 163,020 won higher than the monthly minimum wage for next year. It is expected to provide meaningful support for income stability.
