Samsung Medical Center Ranks 3rd Globally in Cancer Treatment... Seoul Asan Achieves 'Top 10' in Six Specialties
In Newsweek's "World's Best Specialized Hospitals" Rankings
Samsung Medical Center and Seoul Asan Medical Center have secured top positions in the global weekly news magazine Newsweek's "World's Best Specialized Hospitals" rankings, placing 3rd and 4th respectively in the field of cancer care.
Samsung Medical Center announced on September 11 that it has been ranked 3rd in the world for cancer treatment for the second consecutive year in this evaluation. The hospital stated, "Considering that the 1st and 2nd place hospitals are specialized cancer centers, this once again proves that Samsung Medical Center is effectively the world's top-ranked general hospital for cancer treatment."
In June, Samsung Medical Center was also named the top cancer treatment hospital in the Asia-Pacific region for the fourth consecutive year in Newsweek's separate ranking for medical institutions in that region.
Samsung Medical Center also stood out in the field of respiratory diseases, climbing four places in the global rankings compared to last year to reach 19th place. It maintained its position as the top hospital in Korea for the third year in a row. Additionally, it was ranked 5th in gastroenterology and 10th in urology, making it one of the world's top 10 hospitals in three different specialties. The hospital also placed within the top 100 globally in endocrinology, neurology, orthopedics, cardiology, and neurosurgery, achieving rankings in all 12 evaluated specialties.
The Newsweek World's Best Specialized Hospitals ranking is commissioned by Newsweek and conducted by the German global marketing research firm Statista. The rankings are determined by collecting evaluations from tens of thousands of medical professionals in 30 countries regarding both domestic and international hospitals in 12 clinical specialties, followed by a final qualitative assessment by a medical advisory board.
