Modusign Appoints Former Bungaejangter CTO Lee Dongjoo
Advancing Contract Management Solutions with Generative AI
On September 11, Modusign, an electronic signature company, announced that it has appointed Lee Dongjoo as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to strengthen its technological competitiveness and develop next-generation contract management solutions.
With the recruitment of the new CTO, Modusign plans to actively expand its pool of top talent in key fields such as engineering, AI research, and security, thereby enhancing its technological edge.
CTO Lee Dongjoo is a natural language processing (NLP) expert who earned his Ph.D. from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Seoul National University and previously worked as a principal researcher at Samsung Electronics. The Korean morphological analyzer 'KKMA,' which he developed during his graduate studies, is the first open-source morphological analyzer in Korea and is still widely used today.
After that, he worked at the AI-based recommendation solution company Recobell, and went on to co-found the blockchain platform startup Voost and the Ethereum Layer 2 solution developer Lightscale, establishing himself as a serial entrepreneur. After Voost was acquired by Bungaejangter, he joined as CTO, leading the platform's technological advancement by overseeing large-scale traffic processing, AI-based recommendation and search, and the development of fraud detection systems.
Modusign is advancing its contract lifecycle management (CLM) solution by integrating generative AI and document analysis AI technologies, automating the entire contract process, including contract classification, risk detection, and condition summarization. To this end, the company has recently collaborated with Upstage and is rapidly evolving from an electronic signature-focused company into an AI-based contract management specialist.
Lee Youngjun, CEO of Modusign, said, "Modusign is setting a new standard for Korean contract management solutions based on AI technology," adding, "The appointment of CTO Lee Dongjoo is an important starting point that will elevate our technological capabilities and accelerate CLM innovation."
