Korea Exchange Hosts FIA Forum in Busan... Discusses Market Development Strategies
The Korea Exchange hosted the Futures Industry Association (FIA) Forum at the Signiel Hotel in Busan on the 10th.
This forum is an international derivatives conference jointly organized by the FIA and leading exchanges in each region, held in major global financial centers.
Approximately 250 industry participants attended the forum, including representatives from the city of Busan, overseas exchanges, global investment institutions, and index providers. They discussed key issues in the global derivatives market and strategies for the future development of the Korean market.
In his welcoming speech, Chairman Jung Eunbo of the Korea Exchange stated, "As we mark the 20th anniversary of the launch of the integrated exchange and the inaugural year of night trading, it is essential to strengthen the global competitiveness of the Korean derivatives market." He added, "To respond to changes in the market environment, such as the expansion of geopolitical risks and the rise of digital assets, we will focus on developing new products, establishing a 24-hour trading system, and enhancing market safety mechanisms."
Chairman Jung further emphasized, "Let us work together to build a resilient and inclusive market through cooperation with regulatory authorities and global investment institutions," and expressed his hope that "this forum will serve as an opportunity to strengthen global partnerships."

The first session of the panel discussion addressed achievements in improving the trading infrastructure and systems of the Korean derivatives market. The second session focused on the attractiveness of the Korean market from the perspective of foreign investors, areas for improvement, and strategies for expanding the inflow of global investors through collaboration with overseas institutions.
