However, on September 10, as the Gangwon Provincial Council was reviewing investments and contributions for the project, Chuncheon City officially notified its rejection of the project proposal, making it inevitable that the project will face significant setbacks.
According to Gangwon Province and Gangwon Development Corporation, they have done their utmost to accommodate Chuncheon City's requests for revisions, but the city's hasty rejection of the proposal is seen as a clear indication of its unwillingness to cooperate.
An official from Gangwon Province stated, "This action by Chuncheon City is an irresponsible move that betrays the trust of our residents," emphasizing that "the damage caused by project delays could spread throughout Gangwon Province."
