South Korea and Japan Hold 4th Economic Security Dialogue in Seoul... Discuss Supply Chain and AI Technology Cooperation
The presidential office announced that the governments of South Korea and Japan held the fourth Korea-Japan Economic Security Dialogue in Seoul on September 10, 2025.
Song Kiho, Secretary for Economic Security, represented South Korea as the chief delegate, while Soda Takeshi, Cabinet Councillor of the National Security Secretariat, served as the chief delegate for Japan. The Korea-Japan Economic Security Dialogue has been held three times previously, and this latest meeting followed the agreement between the leaders of both countries on August 23 to strengthen communication in the field of economic security.
During the meeting, the two countries exchanged views and explored concrete cooperation measures on a range of economic security topics, including enhancing mutual understanding of economic security policies, supply chain cooperation, advanced technology collaboration such as artificial intelligence (AI) and quantum technology, and ways to work together in multilateral settings.
