Namwon City to Conduct Safety Inspection of Water Supply Facilities Through Next Month
Checking for Structural Cracks and Signs of Aging
Namwon City in North Jeolla Province will conduct a detailed safety inspection of its water supply facilities from this month through next month.
According to the city on September 10, this inspection is being carried out as part of a detailed safety diagnosis under Article 12 of the Special Act on the Safety and Maintenance of Facilities, and will focus on the Wollak and Songdong water reservoirs.
The inspection will be conducted meticulously, covering the following areas: safety checks for structural cracks and aging, functional inspections of pipelines, valves, and water level gauges, as well as maintenance and environmental checks including internal cleanliness, waterproofing, and the surrounding environment.

Mayor Choi Kyungsik stated, "Through this inspection, we will ensure a safer and cleaner water supply for our citizens," adding, "Depending on the results, we will carry out repairs and reinforcement work as needed, and will make every effort to maintain the facilities continuously."
