Korea SMEs and Startups Agency Publishes Guidebook for Startup Global Expansion
Written Directly by KSC Directors
The Korea SMEs and Startups Agency announced on September 10 that it will produce and distribute the "K-Startup Center Global Expansion Guidebook" to provide effective and systematic support for the overseas expansion of domestic startups.
The K-Startup Center (KSC) is an overseas startup support platform operated by the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency. It assists promising domestic startups in global expansion by supporting local business development, attracting investment, and building networks.
This guidebook was written with direct participation from KSC directors with extensive on-site experience in Seattle, United States; Singapore; Paris, France; Hanoi, Vietnam; and Tokyo, Japan, providing practical information for overseas expansion.
The main contents include: an overview of KSC support programs; the economic and industrial status of target countries for overseas expansion; investment attraction environments; procedures for establishing a corporation; local government startup policies; and major support events by related organizations. The guidebook is designed to serve as a core manual for domestic startups preparing for overseas expansion, with a focus on summarizing the startup and investment environments by country.
In particular, the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency plans to open a new integrated KSC hub in Silicon Valley in 2026, targeting the high demand for global expansion in the western United States. By establishing a base in Silicon Valley, which is considered the world's leading innovation ecosystem, domestic startups are expected to be more strategically connected to the North American market and technology and investment networks.
The guidebook will be made freely available in e-book format through the official Korea Startup website, ensuring easy access for everyone.
Kang Seokjin, Chairman of the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency, stated, "KSC goes beyond simply providing office space and serves as a gateway to the global startup ecosystem. This guidebook was planned based on our accumulated field experience and know-how. Going forward, the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency will continue to lead the overseas expansion of domestic startups and expand connections with the global market, centering on KSC."
