Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Shin Sangjin) signed a business agreement for ESG environmental cooperation with two defense industry companies located in Pangyo at 10 a.m. on the 8th in the first conference room on the 4th floor of the city hall.

View original imageThe signing ceremony was attended by Seongnam Mayor Shin Sangjin, LIG Nex1 Vice President Cha Sanghoon, and Hanwha Aerospace Executive Director Kim Cheolhong, who jointly signed the agreement.
According to the agreement, the two companies will participate in environmental protection activities and biodiversity enhancement projects promoted by Seongnam City.
This will include monitoring the habitat of flying squirrels at Maengsan Firefly Ecological Park and other locations, as well as participating in firefly exploration experiences and biodiversity exploration activities.
They will also collaborate on projects such as creating biotopes, planting nectar-producing plants, and removing invasive species at six locations, including the Pangyo Environmental Ecology Learning Center (Sampyeong-dong) near the companies and the Tancheon Taepyeong Wetland Ecological Park (Taepyeong-dong).
Mayor Shin Sangjin stated, "I am reassured that this ESG collaboration is expanding to include defense industry companies through this agreement," adding, "We will establish a cooperation system to realize sustainable environmental values."
ESG stands for Environmental, Social, and Governance, and refers to the social values that institutions and companies should pursue for sustainable development.
