View original imageThe Jeonnam Eastern Immigrant and Foreigner Comprehensive Support Center held its opening ceremony on the first floor of Yeosu Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Open Maru on September 8 and began its operations.
The Jeonnam Eastern Immigrant and Foreigner Comprehensive Support Center serves as a comprehensive hub for foreign residents in the eastern region-including Yeosu, Suncheon, Gwangyang, Gokseong, Gurye, Goheung, and Boseong-focusing on breaking down language and cultural barriers and supporting stable settlement.
In addition, the center is expected to provide interpretation and translation services in daily life, administrative, and medical fields, operate counseling rooms, and offer outreach counseling services to address and resolve various issues in areas such as legal matters, labor, and daily life.
The opening ceremony was attended by Jeonnam Governor Kim Youngrok, Consul General Gu Jingqi of the Chinese Consulate in Gwangju, Jeonnam Provincial Assembly members, heads of related organizations, foreign residents, and community leaders. Notably, a congratulatory video from President Lee Jaemyung for those who have acquired Korean nationality was delivered, drawing attention.
