The event began at 10 a.m. with a pre-ceremony performance by local residents to announce the opening of the 26th Social Welfare Day Commemoration Ceremony. The program included: a commendation for individuals with meritorious service in social welfare, an oath by social workers, the signing of an MOU for welfare service sponsorship, the presentation of plaques to newly designated Good Stores, a donation ceremony, and concluded with a celebratory performance by the Dokdo Pops Orchestra and a social welfare slogan performance.
Additionally, starting at 11:30 a.m., the 4th Ulleung County Social Welfare Expo and a busking cultural performance by local resident clubs were held as side events, offering visitors a variety of sights, food, and entertainment to enjoy.
In particular, some of the booths at the Social Welfare Service Promotion and Experience Hall and the Food and Flea Market operated as part of the expo charged participation fees. These fees will be donated to the "Happiness Fund Together" through the Gyeongbuk Community Chest of Korea and are planned to be used for supporting vulnerable groups in the region.
Hwang Seong-woong, the private sector chairman of the Ulleung County Community Security Council, stated, "I would like to thank the many local social welfare facilities and organizations that participated in preparing for the expo. I hope this event will become a festival where residents and social workers working in the field come together, and that it will serve as a meaningful opportunity to strengthen the network among social welfare professionals."
