Highlighting Security and Privacy Technologies
and Leading Innovation in Personal Data Protection
Toss announced on September 8 that it will introduce the security and privacy protection technologies of Toss FacePay at the 47th Global Privacy Assembly (GPA) held in Seoul.
The GPA is the largest international forum in the field of personal data protection, with participation from data protection authorities around the world.
The 47th GPA, hosted in Seoul under the supervision of the Personal Information Protection Commission, will be held for five days starting September 15, with the theme "Personal Data Issues in the Age of Artificial Intelligence (AI)."
Toss will participate in the event as an exhibitor in the innovation technology experience zone. The exhibition will take place from September 16 to 18 at the Grand Hyatt in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
A space will be set up for visitors to experience Toss FacePay firsthand. The booth will be designed with a FacePay store concept. Visitors who try FacePay at the booth will receive K-culture themed snacks and beauty product merchandise.
It is the only facial recognition payment service that has undergone a prior adequacy review by the Personal Information Protection Commission. All data is managed in encrypted form and is used only within the necessary scope with the user's consent.
At the event, Toss will introduce its personal data protection management system.
Toss systematically manages the collection, retention, provision, and disposal of personal data based on user consent history and data table information. Based on this, the company operates its self-developed "Personal Data Meta Management System" and "Personal Data Risk Management System."
