"Detecting Fraud Patterns"... Carrot Strengthens Safe Transactions with AI Agent
Carrot Enhances Fraud Prevention System
AI Agent Introduced to Detect Fraud Patterns and Strengthen User Protection
On September 8, Carrot announced that it has introduced an artificial intelligence (AI) agent designed to detect fraud patterns, in order to create a safer environment for secondhand transactions and protect its users.
The purpose is to leverage AI technology to proactively detect potential fraud risks and respond swiftly, thereby providing users with a more secure and reassuring trading environment.
The AI agent comprehensively analyzes various types of information, including user posts, chats, neighborhood verification, and mobile device data, to detect fraud patterns. When a suspicious pattern is identified, the AI agent assesses the risk level, and a team of monitoring specialists reviews the results to take necessary actions such as reporting or imposing sanctions. With this system in place, Carrot can identify and respond to a broader range of fraud risks at an early stage, which is expected to further reduce potential dangers during transactions.
Safety features within the chat function have also been enhanced. If an account number or phone number associated with a history of fraud is shared in a chat, it is automatically deleted. Attempts to bypass this, such as altering the number format or converting it into Hangul, are also blocked. The recipient is shown a warning notification indicating that the number has been used in fraudulent activities and is advised to halt the transaction.
Carrot has also strengthened its user notification feature to prevent account rental scams. If a user logs into a Carrot account from a new device, an immediate warning message is sent via SMS, notification talk, and email, stating that lending or sharing the account may result in involvement in fraudulent crimes and legal penalties.
