Southeast Regional Radiation Oncology Center Launches Patient-Centered Health Newsletter "Monthly Companion"
The Southeast Regional Radiation Oncology Center (Director: Lee Changhoon) will launch a mailing service for its monthly newsletter, "Monthly Companion," starting in September to provide patients and caregivers with reliable health information.
"Monthly Companion" is a health newsletter that selects one topic each month, with medical professionals directly providing specialized medical information in a way that is easy for patients to understand.
Covering everything from disease prevention to treatment and management methods, it delivers essential information that patients and caregivers need to know, and is sent out once a month.
The first issue focuses on "Cancer Pain Management and Painkiller Usage," a key concern for cancer patients and their caregivers. A hematology-oncology specialist and a palliative care team nurse provide detailed explanations. In particular, the issue aims to correct the deeply rooted belief among Korean patients that "pain should be endured," as well as vague fears about using painkillers, and offers practical information to help improve patients' quality of life.
"Monthly Companion" is available for free to anyone. Subscribing is as simple as sending your email address to the designated contact person, and the newsletter will be sent regularly on the third Tuesday of each month. Additionally, it will be available in print within the hospital and as a video through the official YouTube channel.
