Man in His 30s Who Shared 'Cannabis Jelly' with Acquaintances Again Receives Suspended Sentence on Appeal
A man in his 30s who consumed cannabis-infused jelly and shared it with acquaintances has once again received a suspended prison sentence on appeal.
On September 5, the Criminal Appeals Division 3 of the Seoul Eastern District Court, presided over by Chief Judge Kim Hanseong, dismissed both the prosecution's and Mr. Yoo's appeals, upholding the original sentence of one year and six months in prison, suspended for three years, for violating the Narcotics Control Act.
The court stated, "It is difficult to find any new circumstances that would justify changing the sentence," adding, "The sentence handed down in the original trial cannot be considered either too lenient or too harsh, so both the defendant's and the prosecutor's appeals are dismissed."

Mr. Yoo was indicted for consuming cannabis jelly and distributing it to acquaintances at a restaurant in Gwangjin District, Seoul, in April of last year.
