Korea Institute for Advancement of Small and Medium Business and Korea Railroad Industry Association to Support Overseas Expansion of Railroad SMEs
Synergy Expected in Export Support Through Business Agreement
The Korea Institute for Advancement of Small and Medium Business announced on September 5 that it had signed a "business agreement to promote overseas expansion of small and medium venture companies" with the Korea Railroad Industry Association at the association's office located in Jung-gu, Seoul.
The signing ceremony was attended by Kang Seokjin, Chairman of the Korea Institute for Advancement of Small and Medium Business, Kim Heerak, Executive Vice Chairman of the association, and about 10 other officials. The two organizations agreed to work together to facilitate the overseas expansion of promising domestic small and medium venture companies in the railroad industry and to help resolve on-site challenges.
The main points of the agreement include: sharing global market information between the organizations and jointly providing it to companies; offering customized overseas expansion support through collaboration between the two organizations' programs; cooperating on online and offline overseas expansion initiatives; and identifying and resolving challenges faced by small and medium venture companies as they enter local markets.
The Korea Institute for Advancement of Small and Medium Business is running tailored programs for each stage of growth to boost the global market entry of small and medium venture companies. These include the "Export Voucher," which supports overseas marketing based on export size and stage; "Online Export Support," which helps companies develop overseas sales channels online; and "Overseas Bases (GBC, KSC)," which provide local entry services including office space. Through these programs, companies can receive the support they need from their initial export steps to establishing a presence in local markets.
The association is also implementing a variety of initiatives to help small and medium-sized enterprises in the railroad sector expand overseas and strengthen their capabilities. These include support for developing overseas sales channels such as participation in overseas exhibitions, assistance in obtaining international certification for railroad products, and training specialized professionals in the railroad industry.

Chairman Kang Seokjin stated, "This agreement will serve as a solid foundation for cooperation, leveraging the expertise of both the Korea Institute for Advancement of Small and Medium Business and the association to help domestic small and medium venture companies advance into overseas markets. As protectionist measures such as tariffs threaten to worsen export conditions, we will actively support companies so they can truly experience the benefits of overseas expansion."
