Pyeongchang County in Gangwon Province announced on September 4 that it held a review committee for architectural design proposals for the "Pyeongchang Green Bio-Youth Living House Construction Project" on September 1, and selected the joint submission by CND Architects and foreign architect Choi Wooyoung as the final winner.
A total of four teams participated in the competition, and the review committee, composed of seven experts including professors and architects, conducted the evaluation with six out of seven members present. The winning design was highly rated for its ability to accommodate various residential types, as well as its feasibility and constructability.
This project will receive 8 billion won from the Local Extinction Response Fund. The site covers 413-1 Daehwa-ri, Daehwa-myeon, Pyeongchang County, along with five additional lots, with a total construction area of approximately 1,419.45 square meters (±5%). The county plans to begin the detailed design phase in mid-September, complete the design by March next year, break ground in April, and push forward with the goal of completing construction in the second half of 2027.
