Yongin Mayor Lee Sangil to Visit Germany for Urban Regeneration Tour and Attend IFA

Visiting "Holzmarkt 25" for Urban Regeneration Insights
Lee Sangil, Mayor of Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province, will visit Berlin, Germany for five days from September 4 to 8 to tour urban regeneration sites and attend the Internationale FunkAusstellung Berlin (IFA), an international consumer electronics exhibition.
This trip is organized by the Council of Mayors of Major Cities in Korea and will be attended by Lee Kangdeok, Mayor of Pohang; Lee Donghwan, Mayor of Goyang; and Kim Byungsoo, Mayor of Gimpo.
On September 5 (local time), Mayor Lee and his delegation will visit the German Association of Cities and the Berlin House of Representatives to examine local autonomy policies, decentralization initiatives, and urban regeneration projects being pursued by major cities.
The delegation will also meet with representatives from the Korean office of the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which serves as the IFA’s Korean representative office, to sign a memorandum of understanding on supporting Korean companies expanding overseas, administrative exchanges, and youth capacity building. They will also visit the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Germany to discuss local investment activities by Korean companies.
On September 6, the delegation will attend the IFA in Berlin. Established in 1924, this exhibition is one of the world’s top three trade fairs, with more than 1,800 companies from over 130 countries participating.

On September 7, the delegation will visit Holzmarkt 25, a leading example of successful urban regeneration in Berlin, to discuss sustainable urban development strategies with local experts. The group is scheduled to return to Korea on September 8.
