Busan Students to Access AI Mock Interview Service from September... Behavioral and Vocal Analysis Included
From September, university entrance exam candidates in the Busan region will be able to use an artificial intelligence (AI)-based personalized mock interview service.
The AI will not only assess document-based interviews using student records, but will also evaluate eye contact, posture, shoulder movements, voice tone, and speaking speed during actual interviews.
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Seokjun) officially launched the AI-based mock interview service 'Jinhak PEN AI' on September 4.

In particular, for document-based interviews, the AI analyzes the student record and generates new personalized questions each time, making repeated practice more effective. In prompt-based interviews, the AI evaluates the similarity between the student's answers and model answers, providing feedback similar to what would be given in a real interview environment.
The comprehensive analysis report includes both behavioral and vocal assessments. It checks eye contact distribution, gestures, posture, shoulder movements, as well as voice tone and speed, helping students objectively improve their interview demeanor.
Currently, more than 25,000 students are receiving personalized support for university entrance through this service, including information on successful applicants, interview reviews, and a university entrance simulator. The Office of Education plans to enhance the system's features by 2026, including automatic generation of responsive interview questions and further advancement of successful applicant data.
