To date, more than 750 new jobs have been created through the Gwangju Advanced Logistics Center and the Fresh Center. The total number of employees is expected to reach approximately 2,450 in the future. In particular, the introduction of state-of-the-art automation facilities utilizing artificial intelligence (AI), such as automated guided vehicles (AGVs) and sorting robots, has been recognized for dramatically improving both efficiency and the working environment.
This investment is also contributing to mutual growth with local small businesses. Through Coupang's nationwide logistics network, the sales channels for local producers and small and medium-sized enterprises have expanded nationwide. This has provided tangible benefits in reducing distribution costs and increasing sales. In the future, with support for exports to destinations such as Taiwan, Coupang is expected to drive further co-growth with the local economy.
