Palace Music Concerts to Be Held at Gyeongbokgung and Jongmyo in the Second Half of the Year

The Royal Palaces and Tombs Center and the National Heritage Promotion Agency announced on September 3 that the fall Palace Music Concerts will be held at Gyeongbokgung Palace in September and at Jongmyo Shrine in October.

At Jibokjae Hall in Gyeongbokgung Palace, "Ballet x Sujecheon," which combines ballet and the court music "Sujecheon," will be performed from September 25 to 28 at 7 p.m. The performance consists of three acts: "Ballet Jeongjae," "Ballet Fantasy," and "Ballet Binari." Approximately ninety performers, including the Korea National University of Arts Ballet Company and the National Gugak Center Court Music Orchestra, will take the stage. Tickets can be reserved starting at 2 p.m. on September 9 and are priced at 20,000 won per person. Reservations by phone are also available for those aged 65 and older, people with disabilities, and national merit recipients.

At Yeongnyeongjeon Hall in Jongmyo Shrine, "Adding Ritual Music to Pungnyu" will be performed twice daily (2 p.m. and 4 p.m.) from October 9 to 12. This performance features a collaboration of Jongmyo Jeryeak, cello, and Korean traditional orchestra. Admission is free and available on-site without prior registration.
