Strategic Recruitment to Tackle Digital Tax and Transfer Pricing Regulations
Law firm Bae, Kim & Lee has recruited Kyungkeun Lee, an advisor specializing in international taxation, and Minkyeong Cho, a foreign attorney licensed in New York State. This move is intended to proactively respond to the rapidly changing tax environment, including the global minimum tax, digital tax, and transfer pricing regulations.
According to Bae, Kim & Lee on September 3, Advisor Lee previously served as an administrator at the Secretariat of the OECD Fiscal Affairs Committee and as an officer in the International Tax Division of the Ministry of Finance and Economy (now the Ministry of Economy and Finance). In 2003, he worked as the 9th Investigator at the National Tax Tribunal under the Ministry of Finance and Economy. He also served as the chief representative for Korea in tax treaty renegotiations with tax authorities in countries such as China, Australia, and Canada. From 2007 until recently, he led the tax advisory division at Yulchon LLC, handling global tax advisory work, including international taxation, transfer pricing, and cross-border M&A.
Minkyeong Cho, a foreign attorney, worked as a specialist in the International Legal Affairs Division at the Ministry of Justice, primarily providing legal support in international trade and transactions, as well as handling international legal affairs. She later served as the head of the OECD General Affairs Team in the International Tax Management Office at the National Tax Service, where she was responsible for planning international tax policy, drafting legislation, and establishing global taxation standards.
