Jeonbuk Fire Headquarters Launches "Fire Prevention Measures" Ahead of Chuseok Holiday
Until October 12...
Minimizing Casualties and Property Damage
Jeonbuk Fire Headquarters will implement the "Chuseok Holiday Fire Prevention Measures" for six weeks, from September 3 to October 12, in celebration of the Chuseok holiday.
According to the headquarters on September 2, this initiative is a comprehensive plan designed to prevent fires and minimize casualties and property damage, as the risk of fire increases due to increased travel and use of multi-use facilities during the extended holiday period.
Over the past five years, there have been a total of 118 fires in Jeonbuk during the Chuseok holiday period. While there were no fatalities, three people were injured and property damage amounted to 660 million won.
Outdoor and residential facilities accounted for 50% of all fire locations. The main causes were carelessness and electrical factors, which were responsible for more than 75% of all fires, highlighting the need for special attention to safety management at home.
The Chuseok Holiday Fire Prevention Measures will focus on three main tasks: eliminating fire hazards, creating a fire-safe environment, and conducting public awareness campaigns for residents.
Jeonbuk Fire Headquarters plans to conduct unannounced fire safety inspections at 406 multi-use facilities, including retail and transportation sites. For 59 traditional markets, the headquarters will establish a voluntary safety inspection system through fire facility checks and meetings.
Any violations found during inspections will be corrected before the holiday, and routine or repeated violations will be strictly dealt with in accordance with relevant laws.
