On September 2, LG Uplus announced that it will jointly develop a corporate and financial specialized AI foundation model in collaboration with Korea Evaluation Data (KODATA), a comprehensive credit bureau (CB).

KODATA is a corporate information institution that holds more than 14 million corporate data records, making it the largest in South Korea. It has the infrastructure to comprehensively analyze various data such as companies' financial status, credit ratings, and real estate ownership.

The two companies will develop a "corporate and financial specialized AI foundation model" by combining the domain-specialized learning technology applied in LG Uplus’s "IXigen" with the large language model "Exaone" from LG AI Research Institute.

In addition, LG Uplus and KODATA plan to introduce customized AI services that can enhance work efficiency for financial sector professionals and corporate clients, such as corporate and financial expert agents that allow users to explore corporate information conversationally and automatically generate reports.

Notably, this model will incorporate DACP (Domain Adaptive Continual Pre-Training) technology to enhance performance in the corporate and financial sectors. DACP is a technology that improves the accuracy and domain understanding of AI models by further training them with industry-specific data, and it is used to create models optimized for each industry sector.

Through this collaboration, LG Uplus expects to expand its AI service portfolio for corporate clients, including those in the financial industry, while KODATA anticipates discovering new revenue models by utilizing its own data.

Jung Younghoon, Executive Vice President in charge of Corporate AI Business at LG Uplus, said, "Through our collaboration with KODATA, we are now able to implement AI services that provide practical support in the financial sector," adding, "We will continue to create new business opportunities with AI technologies tailored to the needs of customers in each industry."
