Army Captain Found Dead at Suseong Lake Park in Daegu
Military Authorities: "No Evidence of Criminal Activity"
At around 6:40 a.m. on September 2, a citizen reported to the police that a man had been found dead at Sanghwa Dongsan near Suseong Lake in Suseong District, Daegu.
The man was identified as a captain affiliated with a directly controlled Army unit in Yeongcheon, North Gyeongsang Province. At the time he was discovered, he had suffered a gunshot wound, and a military rifle was found next to him.
The police handed the case over to the military. Military prosecutors have reported that there are no signs of foul play and are currently investigating the exact circumstances of the incident, including how the firearm was removed from the base.
