Gangseo-gu to Proactively Inspect Daily Inconveniences... "Patrols with Residents Familiar with the Field"
Addressing Illegal Dumping, Facility Damage, and Playground Safety
Accelerating Resolution Through On-Site Action and Departmental Coordination
Gangseo-gu in Seoul (District Mayor Jin Kyohoon) will conduct an "Environmental Patrol with Residents" throughout the district from September 3 to November this year.
The patrols will include local guardians, members of professional organizations, and residents who are well-acquainted with local conditions, along with the district office's field patrol team and the local community center. Following patrol routes set by each community center, the team will walk through vulnerable areas to conduct inspections. Each of the 20 neighborhoods will be patrolled once, with a focus on proactively identifying inconveniences in every corner of the local alleys.

The results of these inspections will be addressed immediately or referred to the relevant departments to expedite the resolution process.
The district office will actively listen to residents' concerns during the patrols. In addition, it will promote the use of "Eungdapso," an online platform for reporting inconveniences, as well as provide guidance on how to report issues by phone, in order to encourage on-site civil complaints.
Last year, the patrols identified and improved more than 200 on-site issues that residents found significant, such as the removal of illegal advertisements, repair of roads and traffic facilities, and enhancement of park amenities.
Meanwhile, the district is pursuing field-oriented administration through initiatives such as the "Community Center Director Environmental Patrol System," where the community center director personally inspects residents' inconveniences, and the "One-Day Community Center Director," where the district mayor assumes the role of community center director.
