[2026 Early Admission] Hankuk University of Foreign Studies to Admit 2,088 Students... Ineligible for Principal's Recommendation Track if School Violence Recorded
2,088 Students to Be Admitted Through Early Admission
New Departments Established for 2025 to Recruit Only Through Regular Admission
Hankuk University of Foreign Studies will admit 2,088 students, accounting for 60.1% of the total admissions quota, through the early admission process for the 2026 academic year.
By admission type, 380 students will be selected through the Principal’s Recommendation track, 475 through the Comprehensive Student Record (Interview) track, 34 through the Comprehensive Student Record (SW Talent) track, 539 through the Comprehensive Student Record (Document) track, 192 through the Equal Opportunity track, and 468 through the Essay track. Applicants may apply to multiple tracks, but separate eligibility requirements must be met for the Equal Opportunity track. It is not possible to apply to more than one department within the same track.
The college- and division-specific departments newly established for the 2025 academic year will only recruit students through the regular admission process for the 2026 academic year. As a result, the number of students recruited for each department in the early admission process has slightly increased for each track.
The Principal’s Recommendation track selects candidates based 100% on academic grades from the School Life Record and applies a minimum academic requirement based on the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT). Applicants with a record of disciplinary action for school violence in their School Life Record are not eligible to apply. For common and general elective subjects, the higher value between the grade conversion score and the raw score conversion is used (for career elective subjects, the achievement conversion score is applied).
The Comprehensive Student Record track is divided into Interview, Document, SW Talent, and Equal Opportunity tracks. For the Comprehensive Student Record (Interview) track, candidates are first screened 100% based on documents, and three times the number of available spots are selected for interviews. Final selection is made by combining 50% from the first-stage document evaluation and 50% from the second-stage interview evaluation. For the Comprehensive Student Record (Document, SW Talent, and Equal Opportunity) tracks, selection is based 100% on document evaluation. Starting with the 2026 academic year, if a record of disciplinary action for school violence is noted in the School Life Record, a penalty of 1% to 100% will be applied to the total score for each track, depending on the number of incidents.
