View original imageAccording to the city on September 1, this mass vaccination is being carried out as part of the annual foot-and-mouth disease vaccination plan for the first and second halves of the year. Since the immunity maintenance period (six months) has passed after the mass vaccination in March this year, the goal is to increase the collective antibody formation rate through this mass vaccination and to preemptively block the introduction of viral infections into farms.
The vaccination targets all cattle and goats over two months old within the jurisdiction. For cows in late pregnancy, the vaccination will be administered after calving to minimize any side effects related to the vaccination.
To ensure smooth vaccination, stress-relief supplements for vaccination will be supplied to all farms. For small-scale farms with fewer than 50 animals, public veterinarians will provide vaccination support, while for larger-scale farms with 50 or more animals, the farm owners, Livestock Cooperatives, and Dairy Cooperatives will collaborate to carry out the vaccinations.
