It has been reported that Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is coordinating a visit to South Korea and Japan after attending the military parade commemorating the "80th Anniversary of the Victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War (World War II)" in Beijing, China, on September 3.

View original imageAccording to Kyodo News on August 30, the Japanese government is reportedly considering holding a summit between Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba and President Prabowo around September 5.
President Prabowo has not specified whether he will visit South Korea or Japan first.
This will be President Prabowo's first visit to Japan since taking office in October last year. Prime Minister Ishiba held talks with President Prabowo in Indonesia in January this year, during which they agreed to cooperate in various fields such as defense and energy.

Kyodo News predicted that during the upcoming summit, the leaders of Japan and Indonesia are expected to strengthen security cooperation with China in mind and reaffirm the importance of a free and open international order based on the rule of law. It was also added that fostering and cooperating on disaster prevention talent may be included in the agenda.
