Yangju City Establishes Suicide Prevention Safety Net... Signs "Life Respect Safe Village" Agreement
The Yangju City Public Health Center in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 30th that it held the "Life Respect Safe Village Agreement Ceremony and Plaque Ceremony" on the 29th to promote a culture of life respect and strengthen suicide prevention.

More than 40 representatives and officials from 31 organizations attended, including Yangju City, Yangju Police Station, Goeup, Hoecheon, and Okjeong District Police Stations, Okjeong 119 Safety Center, Samsung, Deokgye, Yuljeong, and Okjeong Middle Schools, Okjeong Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, Hope Senior Welfare Center, 365 Kyunghee Sake Korean Medicine Clinic, local hospitals, clinics and pharmacies, Yangju Transportation, Mart King Yangju Branch, and Pungsan Hardware and Building Materials.
The participating organizations agreed to cooperate on: ▲ identifying and quickly connecting high-risk suicide groups, ▲ suicide prevention awareness campaigns, ▲ life keeper education, ▲ providing customized services for high-risk suicide groups, and ▲ blocking access to means of suicide.
The "Life Respect Safe Village" project is an initiative in which institutions from five sectors-public, health care, education, welfare, and local community-work together to promote suicide prevention in the region.
This year, Yangju City designated four districts-Yangju 2-dong, Hoecheon 2-dong, Okjeong 1-dong, and Okjeong 2-dong-and plans to gradually expand the project in the future.
