A Variety of Experience Programs Including Grape Stomping Offered
The 'Hwaseong Songsan Grape Festival,' one of the representative local festivals in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, will be held for two days on September 6 and 7 at the Gungpyeong Port area in Seosin-myeon.
This year’s festival, held under the theme 'Tasty Songsan,' will feature its signature program, the large-scale 'Grape Stomping Experience,' along with the newly introduced 'Mini Grape Stomping Experience' using oak barrels.
At the grape exhibition and promotion hall set up at the venue, visitors can enjoy hands-on exhibitions where they can directly experience and enjoy grapes. Visitors can participate in various grape-themed activities such as soap making, dyeing, beverage making, grape variety guessing, and sugar content measurement.
At the local agricultural products and grape processed goods market, visitors can purchase regional specialties at reasonable prices. The winery zone, featuring local wineries, and the gourmet area will offer a variety of culinary delights.
On the main stage and at the busking zone, celebratory performances and street performances by local artists will take place over the two days. There will also be a water play area and a rest zone for families visiting the festival.
Mayor Jeong Myeonggeun of Hwaseong stated, "The Hwaseong Songsan Grape Festival is a special event where farmers and artists come together to create a blend of flavor and art," adding, "It will be a festival that offers sweet flavors, abundant fun, and a variety of touching experiences."
