24 Teams Selected to Showcase the Essence of Namdo Cuisine at the Expo

View original imageThe Secretariat of the Namdo International Gourmet Industry Expo held practical evaluations for participants in the "Namdo Representative Restaurants Gourmet Road," a core program of the 2025 Namdo International Gourmet Industry Expo, at the culinary practice room of Mokpo Science University until August 26.
The practical evaluations targeted 30 teams that passed the first round of document screening. The process included on-site cooking, appetizing plating, tasting and judging, as well as individual interviews. Participants prepared and served their own menus within the designated time and were evaluated while adhering to hygiene regulations.
To ensure fairness, external experts such as professors of food and nutrition and food culture researchers were appointed as judges. The evaluation criteria included taste and cooking skills, utilization of local ingredients, and operational attitude.
The 24 teams that are ultimately selected will receive menu consulting, hygiene education, and professional profile and menu photography. During the expo, the selected teams will sell their menus at the Namdo Gourmet Road booth, allowing visitors to experience the essence of Namdo cuisine.
The list of successful applicants will be posted on the official expo website and individually notified on September 1. Menu consulting and education will be provided at a later date.
Hong Yanghyun, Secretary General of the Namdo International Gourmet Industry Expo, stated, "Through the excellent cooking skills demonstrated by the participating teams, we were able to confirm the diversity and charm of Namdo cuisine. We will continue to actively support the selected teams so they can fully showcase their abilities on the expo stage."

The 2025 Namdo International Gourmet Industry Expo, the first gourmet-themed international event in Korea approved based on the value and industrial potential of Namdo cuisine, which combines the pristine nature and culinary expertise of Jeonnam Province, will be held from October 1 to 26 at the Mokpo Culture and Arts Center and surrounding areas.
