Hosted by Jeonju Urban Regeneration Support Center and More
The Jeonju Urban Regeneration Support Center and the Jeonju Sustainable Development Council announced on the 27th that they are recruiting participants for the second half of the year for the 'Jeonju G-Tour Program,' which offers the opportunity to directly experience the value of Jeonju.
The 'Jeonju G-Tour' is an exploration program themed around spatial change and transformation in Jeonju, designed to allow citizens to experience urban regeneration sites and sustainable development cases from their own perspective.
Travelers participating in the G-Tour can discover new charms of Jeonju as they walk through sites where spaces, people, stories, and partnerships come together. This second-half tour is a continuation of the program held in the first half of the year and will be offered through three courses in total.
The three courses are: ▲Stories of Spaces Changing Citizens' Lives (Jeonju Urban Regeneration Support Center~(Former) Gender Equality Jeonju~Saehwalyong Center Dasi Bom~Book Pillar Library~Jeonju City Energy Center) ▲Stories of Alleys Connecting Relationships (Dongmunheon Book Library~White Western-style House~Jeonju Hanok Village Alley~Hanok Village Library~Omokdae~Jaman Mural Village) ▲Stories of People Connecting Villages (Seohak-dong Art Village Library~Namcheon Bridge~Jeonjucheon~Round Forest~Daga Traveler's Library).
Tour participants will explore urban regeneration facilities in the original downtown area of Jeonju and experience examples of alleyway communities. They will also embark on a journey to directly feel the meaning of a sustainable city through interactions with local residents.
Previously, on the 12th, about 10 people, including members of the Wonju City Council, officials from Wonju City, and the Wonju Sustainable Development Council, participated in the Jeonju G-Tour, visiting key urban regeneration hubs in Jeonju such as the Jeonju City Energy Center and the Jeonju Saehwalyong Center Dasi Bom.
A member of the Wonju City Council who directly experienced how spatial changes lead to changes in citizens' lives through the tour said, "Through this tour, I was able to truly experience Jeonju, and there are so many unique charms that only Jeonju has."
A city official stated, "The G-Tour is a living field program that helps people understand and empathize with the values of urban regeneration and a sustainable Jeonju," adding, "We ask for the active interest and participation of citizens."
