This surge is attributed to Monami being highlighted as a beneficiary of the South Korea-US summit. During the summit, US President Donald Trump complimented President Lee Jaemyung's fountain pen, saying, "It's really cool," and President Lee immediately gifted the pen to him. President Lee's fountain pen was a specially crafted product made by the Korean handmade fountain pen brand Jennaile at the request of the presidential office, and it reportedly used a Monami pen nib that was refined for the occasion.
